Shaun of the Dead

In the film Shaun of the Dead, we have to close friends, Shaun and Ed. Neither of these two men are remarkably intelligent or outgoing- Ed lazes about their flat and Shaun works a thankless job in retail. They both tend to drink, have the same humor... They are, essentially, childhood friends. The kinds of friends who are so like you, people would swear you were siblings.

In the context of the film, the bulk of the humor between Shaun and Ed comes from them being rather dumb, but together. They attempt to defend themselves from zombies by hucking records at them, run through increasingly ridiculous plans with each other, and somehow come to the conclusion that a pub is the best place to hide. Together they're two halves of a whole idiot, and that's where the humor stems from. This kind of humor is fine in and of itself, but it's a bit like watching one character be funny rather than two friends.
